Overview of Chobe Savanna Lodge

Chobe Savanna Lodge is situated in the eastern Caprivi of Namibia, on the northern bank of the Chobe River. The lodge overlooks the vast floodplains of the Chobe National Park’s Puku Flats, making it the perfect location for viewing the incredible expanse of African bush. The main building is thatched and open-sided, featuring a spectacular 270-degree view over the Chobe River and reserve, where game such as antelope, buffalo and hippo are free to roam.

Spend the day in the swimming pool, or relax in the open boma, where you can admire the animals and landscape around you. Alternatively, enjoy a day of outdoor activities, including guided nature walks and boat excursions to allow you to explore the surrounding area and do a spot of fishing.

Chobe Savanna Lodge – Again very quiet, but had only just reopened following the floods earlier in the year. Great friendly staff, we both loved the water safaris and say so much from the river. I guess after being shut for some time out of date beer in the mini bar can be excused!

We loved everything about this place. The game drives, the food, the staff – totally awesome place. We did see lots of elephants, hippos, impala, giraffes and crocs.

The accommodations were first class, and the food excellent. The Chobe Savanna Lodge was not that different from the Chobe Game Lodge in that it mainly offered river excursions. The one thing it did offer that was unique was the trip to a local village which we thoroughly enjoyed.
