| Fundu Lagoon is located on Pemba Island, the sister island to Zanzibar and one of the top 5 diving destinations in the world. The hotel is situated on a beautiful remote beach on the south-western side of the island and is only accessible by boat. Fundu Lagoon has been designed for travellers looking to escape the usual holiday crowds, providing a friendly, relaxed haven of peace and outstanding natural beauty. It offers a luxurious yet rustic getaway, as well as an ideal eco and diving experience. A haven for divers and watersports lovers, the island is listed as one of the top diving locations in the world and has a fully-equipped PADI Resort Diving Centre as well as a range of watersports including snorkelling and kayaking. Catamaran sailing charters, traditional Dhow sailing trips, local fishing trips, Mangrove expeditions, nature walks, and visits to Misali Island and the Ngezi Forest are just a few of the exciting adventures on offer at Fundu Lagoon. Fundu Lagoon also offers an excellent restaurant, 2 bars - one of which is situated on a long jetty stretching way out into the ocean, a games & TV room, a boutique which stocks a range of essential and luxury goods, and a massage and treatment room. Fundu Lagoon offers 16 spacious bungalows set under makuti (thatch) roofs on wooden stilted decks, located discreetly amongst the trees on the beach, and higher up overlooking the bay. They all have a sense of privacy yet are connected to the main buildings by sandy walkways, giving full and easy access to the amenities. 4 of the accommodations are suites with their own private chill-out decks and plunge pools. The rooms are all equipped with large double or twin beds, mosquito nets, ceiling and standing fans, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. Each bungalow has a hardwood-panelled en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, hot and cold running water, toilet and basin. Breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring local and international cuisine are served in the large, airy main area of Fundu Lagoon, built under thatch and overlooking the ocean, or at the jetty bar. |
