A 14-day safari in the game parks of Tanzania and on the spice island of Zanzibar.

Go on safari to Tanzania and drink in the sight of the thousands of animals teeming on the plains of the Serengeti and captive in the crater of Ngorongoro. Then jet off to the spice island of Zanzibar where you'll have a chance to explore the medieval alleyways of Stone Town before lazing on perfect beaches. The ideal African safari experience!

Day 1: Arusha to Manyara (Approx 3.15 hours' drive)

You are met in the early afternoon by your guide and leave Arusha for the start of your safari. You are taken to the Manyara Serena lodge, where you check in and have some time to relax before dinner.

Day 2-3: Serengeti (Approx 4 hours' drive)

After a leisurely breakfast you have a morning game drive in the Manyara National Park. Lunch is taken back at the Manyara Serena Lodge before you make your way to the Serengeti. An exciting few days of safari driving in the Serengeti await you. There will be plenty of excellent photo opportunities. In the evening you have dinner back at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge where full board is included.

Day 5: Ngorongoro

Today you enjoy a morning crater tour. The wildlife is incredible and you will see why the Crater is often referred to as the world's largest open-air zoo. Lunch is served back at the lodge before an exciting afternoon visit to a local Masaai village.

Day 6: Ngorongoro - Tarangire

Today you will travel to Tarangire National Park where you will have lunch at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge. In the afternoon you enjoy a game drive in the reserve before heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Tarangire - Selous

Drive to Arusha with a picnic lunch en route. Here you board your flight to the Selous Game Reserve. You are met at the airstrip by your ranger and transferred the short distance to the Rufiji River Camp. Here you are accommodated in a double tent on a full board basis.

Day 8 - 9: Selous

Activities are aplenty in the Selous. Choose between a walking safari, a traditional game drive in open vehicle or a gentle cruise along the river.

Day 10: Selous - Zanzibar

After your morning safari activity you are transferred back to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. On your arrival on the Spice Island, you'll be transferred to the Tembo Hotel for a night's bed & breakfast. Spend the remainder of the day exploring the fascinating coral city of Stone Town tour. This is also the best place for you to buy curios and mementos to take home.

Day 11-13: Zanzibar Beaches

Transfer to Mapenzi Beach Club for three nights half board in a garden view room. Spend your days lazing on the perfect white beaches and diving and snorkelling in the warm turquoise water.
