Day 1: Lake Manyara You'll be picked up from Arusha town centre in the afternoon and transferred to the airport for a scheduled flight to Manyara. On arrival, a representative from Lake Manyara Tree Lodge will meet you for your game drive to the Lodge. Stay for 2 nights at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, in a tree house nestled in boughs of mahogany trees. Accommodation is on a full board basis including scheduled shared game activities. Activities include guided nature walks in the forest, along the perennial river down to the lake shore, escorted by Masai askaris (warrior guards), game drives and forest birding walks in Lake Manyara National Park. Meals : D Accommodation : Lake Manyara Tree Lodge Day 2: Lake Manyara A full day to enjoy activities that you perhaps did not have time for on your previous day. These include guided nature walks in the forest along the river bank, game drives and forest birding walks. Meals : FB Accommodation : Lake Manyara Tree Lodge Day 3: The Serengeti Transfer to Manyara Airstrip for the flight to the Serengeti and Grumeti River Camp. Grumeti River Camp is a luxury-tented camp situated in the Northern Serengeti, overlooking the Grumeti River and along the migratory route of the Serengeti wildebeest. Your ranger and 4x4 vehicle will meet you, and drive you to your luxurious tented safari camp. Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing drives in open safari vehicles and experience close-up encounters with lion, leopard and other wildlife. You’ll stay overnight at Grumeti on a fully inclusive basis for a total of 3 nights. This camp is renowned for its excellent hospitality, attention to detail and Pan African Cuisine. Meals : FB Accommodation : Grumeti River Camp Day 4: The Serengeti Enjoy the entire day in the Serengeti on morning and afternoon game drives - returning to the lodge for meals. Depending on the exact location of the migration during your stay, it is possible to take a picnic lunch on your drive in order to cover as much distance as possible and witness this wildlife spectacular. Meals : FB Accommodation : Grumeti River Camp Day 5: The Serengeti Another full day to enjoy all the splendours that the famous Serengeti has to offer. In the local venacular, Serengeti means "the endless plains that go up to the sky", and they do just that. It is therefore easy to understand why this is the most popular and spectacular of all game reserves in East Africa. Life in the park centres on the annual triangular trek of several million wildebeest. The movement never stops, as the animals constantly seek out new grazing grounds. Meals : FB Accommodation : Grumeti River Camp Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Enjoy breakfast and game viewing en route to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Manyara Airstrip where you will be met by a representative from Ngorongoro Crater Lodge for the transfer to Ngorongoro Crater. This is a fascinating road transfer that allows you to travel through some real Tanzanian countryside. Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, built on the edge of the Crater, is a stunning lodge that looks almost like a Masai Village from the outside - but the inside of the suites will amaze you. Log fires, private butlers, rose strewn bathrooms, and Victorian baths are just some of the features that will welcome you. Accommodation is on a full board basis for 3 nights, and this includes scheduled shared game activities. Meals : FB Accommodation : Ngorongoro Crater Lodge Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Today is a full day for you to enjoy the crater. Activities include shared morning or afternoon game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater. Additional activities are subject to extra cost and include excursions to Olduvai Gorge, the Shifting Sands, and a visit to a Masai village. These additional activities are subject to availability of vehicles. Meals : FB Accommodation : Ngorongoro Crater Lodge Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Another full day to enjoy the activities in the Ngorongoro Crater - or simply relax and enjoy the lodge. Meals : FB Accommodation : Ngorongoro Crater Lodge Day 9: Mnemba Island You will be transferred to Manyara Airstrip today with a packed picnic lunch. Board the flight to Arusha, connecting onwards to Zanzibar where a representative from Mnemba Island will meet you for your road and boat transfer. Spend 5 nights at Mnemba Island Lodge in a “banda", built of indigenous woven palm matting and palm frond thatch, complete with adjacent private facilities. Accommodation is on a full board basis including scheduled activities which include scuba diving (2 dives per day), snorkelling, kayaking and windsurfing.
