Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Lake Manyara (Approx 3hr30min drive)
You depart from Arusha in the early afternoon and head towards Lake Manyara National Park. Your hotel is situated on the rock escarpment overlooking the lake. Dinner will be served at the Lake Manyara Hotel where you will spend your 1st night on safari.

Day 2 : Serengeti National Park (Approx 4hr drive)
This morning you will enjoy a game drive in the Lake Manyara National Park, looking for tree-climbing lions as well as a huge variety of birds. After lunch, you will drive to the Serengeti where your days will be spent exploring the plains. Depending on the time of year you travel you could be witness to the great annual wildebeest migration. You will spend the next 2 nights at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Embark on morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti National Park.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater (Approx 4 1/2hr drive)
After breakfast you head towards Olduvai Gorge to view the archaeological fossil fragments believed to be the ancestors of present day man. After a picnic lunch you will continue on to the Ngorongoro Crater where you will be staying at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 5 - 6 : Tarangire National Park (Approx 4hr drive)
After breakfast you depart the Ngorongoro and drive to Mto Wa Mbu Village, arriving in time for an excursion of the local village. Lunch is provided by Serena Active followed by a real cultural experience, feeling the heartbeat of an authentic African village with every step you take.

You will encounter many locals and sense the existence of their being. A leisurely stroll with a village guide will take you through local homes, farmlands, resident bars, a kindergarten and a church. After the walk we gather at a private, local banana-leaf bar, for a one in a million African fruit tasting. A wide variety of local fruits will be presented to you to taste and appreciate. Following the excursion you continue to Tarangire National Park with a game drive en route to your lodge, located deep within the park. Spend 02 nights at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 7: Stone Town, Zanzibar
Depart after breakfast and head north east to Arusha, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight to Zanzibar departing at 14h30 and arriving at 15h30 (booked by Go2Africa). Upon arrival at Zanzibar, you will be met and transferred to the Tembo House Hotel, decorated in traditional Zanzibari style and looks out over the beautiful Indian Ocean.

Day 8: Zanzibar Beach
You will be transferred to Mapenzi Beach Club, where you will stay for the next 3 nights. This is the perfect end to a safari as you relax and laze away the days on the white beaches or in the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Day 9 - 10 : Zanzibar Beach
Have breakfast and prepare yourself for an optional morning or afternoon scuba dive. Just off the shores of Zanzibar lie numerous coral reefs, home to many colourful tropical fish. You can spend hours exploring the underwater world and its inhabitants. Relax for the rest of the day.

Day 11 : Day of Departure
This morning you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
