A 4-day safari to see the chimps of Gombe
Nothing can prepare you for an encounter with chimps. Whether it’s on a pebbled beach or deep within a forest; it’s an unforgettable experience. Gombe National Park consists of a narrow strip of land stretching along the crystal waters of Lake Tanganyika. The park is fed by numerous streams and waterfalls and its valleys are filled with indigenous trees entwined by vines and creepers. |

Day 2 : Kigoma - Gombe Stream National Park After breakfast, you depart northwards by boat to Gombe Stream National park (around 1½ - 2 hours) for 3 days of chimpanzee treks and forest walks. After lunch and a swim, you enter the forest in search of the chimps. Return to camp in the late afternoon for a sundowner looking out over the lake. Meals : FB Accommodation : Gombe Tented Camp Days 3 : Gombe Stream National Park In the morning you enter the forest again to spend some time with the chimpanzees. These sessions are strictly monitored, allowing one hour per visit. After lunch, you go for another walk in the forest on beautiful trails covered with thick overhanging vegetation. You evening will be spent relaxing back at the lodge alongside the longest and 2nd deepest lake in the world. Meals : FB Accommodation : Gombe Tented Camp Day 4: End of Tour After breakfast and possibly a final swim you depart camp for your transfer by boat back to Kigoma. Here you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Ujiji town and visit Dr Livingstone's Memorial. After lunch you transfer to Kigoma Airport for your flight back to Dar es Salaam where you arrive at approximately 8.15pm. Meals : BL |
