Olakira Camp

Olakira Camp is a mobile tented camp that moves through the Serengeti, following the Great Migration, one of the world’s natural wonders.

The camp is in Ndutu from 10 December until the end of March, the magical period during which the Great Migration takes over the Ndutu plains to give birth to their next generation. It moves up to the central Serengeti for the months of June and July, when the Migration is in this area. In these months, Olakira Camp can be combined with a balloon flight in the central Serengeti.

From August 1 to November 30, the camp is in Soit Sambu, an exclusive concession in the north-eastern part of the Serengeti eco-system, just outside the Serengeti and very close to the Klein’s Gate.

The Serengeti is fantastic for extended game drives and wildlife photography.

Central to the camp are two common tents that are open to the surrounding nature. When the camp is occupied by multiple small groups, one tent will serve as a dining tent and the other one as a lounge, where drinks are served and safari stories are shared.

When a somewhat larger group (e.g. eight people) visits in the camp, one of the common tents can be made the exclusive lounging/dining tent for that group. The other tent will then be set up as a lounging/dining tent for the other guests of the camp.

The 5 luxury mobile tents are spacious and comfortable with large king-size or twin beds and convenient bathrooms.

Each tent has its own private verandah with a private view overlooking the Serengeti. Bathrooms are very comfortable for a mobile camp, having a shower, a wash basin and an environmentally friendly toilet, using water and environmentally friendly chemicals.

Fantastic meals are served in the dining tent or in a private location: your own veranda or under the Serengeti stars.
