Ugandan businessmen own the Margherita Hotel that has recently undergone a full renovation to coincide with the reopening of the Rwenzori Mountains for climbing. There are three levels of rooms, the best of which have their own private balconies facing the mountain and a large bedroom with a modern en suite bathroom. The second block also provides excellent modern facilities but not all the rooms have mountain views. The third block provides a more economic option for those on a tight budget and has bathrooms that have not yet been renovated. Meals are good and wholesome at the Margherita, and Charles, the current manager goes out of his way to make each and every guest feel welcome. The rooms all have en-suite bathrooms and are very clean and comfortable. A large bar and dining areas give you the comfort and space that you’ll to unwind in before your adventure up the Rwenzori Mountains starts.
