The Great Ruaha River is the lifeline of the park. Ruaha River Lodge offers you your own riverside 'banda' designed to blend seamlessly into the surroundings. The local stone and thatch room has minimal impact on the environment and game viewing from your veranda is a relaxing and enthralling option. Your hosts, Peter and Sarah Fox, have an in-depth knowledge of the park and its inhabitants, having lived in and and Ruaha all of their lives. You will rarely meet any other vehicles on your game drives around Ruaha's extensive and well-maintained road network. Trained English speaking guides will lead you to an abundance of leopard, lion, cheetah and hunting dog, as well as several rare species including Greater and Lesser Kudu, Roan and Sable antelopes.
Accommodation at Ruaha River Lodge is in 20 stone and thatched bandas with either twin beds or a double bed. Additional beds can be added. The ensuite bathrooms have a shower, toilet and wash basin with solar-heated hot water. The rooms are protected with mosquito gauze on the windows and a generator provides electricity for lights and battery charging until 11pm each night. There is a complimentary laundry service. |
