The Ark

Access to vehicles is limited to conserve and protect the environment which hosts wildlife such as elephant, rhino, buffalo, bush bucks, giant forest hogs, Sykes monkey, leopard, and bongo.

After lunch at The Aberdare Country Club, you can take a 45-min game drive within the national park, arriving back at the lodge in time for afternoon tea.

The Yasabara waterhole and salt-lick is frequented by great numbers of animals including rare creatures such as the suni, and genet cat. The waterhole is floodlit until dawn to enable all-night viewing of game.

The Ark provides a buzzer alarm in each cabin which is sounded by the game-spotter on duty to alert you when an interesting animal appears, or when something unusual happens. If you do not wish to be disturbed, the buzzer can be turned off.

Children under the age of 7 aren't permitted at the Ark unless on special "Children's nights".
